Rikyu - Matcha cafe
Rikyu is my upcoming matcha café in downtown Palo Alto.
The idea started in the kitchen at Hiroshi as an experiment. After years focused on omakase and fine dining, I wanted to explore something more everyday. A true third place where people can grab a good drink, pick up something simple, or slow down for a moment.
The name comes from Sen no Rikyū, the Japanese tea master whose philosophy centered on simplicity and intention. That influence carries into this project.
Rikyu is about good matcha, straightforward food, and creating a space people want to return to regularly.
